Our Mission Statement

"Our mission is to reduce the rate of school dropouts in teenage girls caused by early pregnancies and gender inequality to increase the number of educated girls, therefore increasing the number of women in the workforce."

Our Problem Statement

"According to a report from the Ministry of Education Rwanda, (MINEDUC) and The United Nations Children's Fund in 2019, the rate of girls dropping out has a higher percentage with girls from ages 16-18 due to various causes like early pregnancies. How can sexual education reduce the rate of school dropouts caused by early pregnancies and implement sustainable education for teenage girls in Rwanda and Africa at large?"

"The primary solution is sex education, and this can be achieved by providing content and resources that explain sex education in depth. Providing digital content on YouTube that is easy to access and provides videos in the form of animations, e-books will be sold. Physical products like comic books, drawings, and extensive books that explain sex education and teach it"

Our E-Lab Journey

Week One

Human Centered Design - Through the experiential session called Women of Dadaab, we were introduced to what it means to include a human perspective in our solutions.

Week Two

Introduction to Global challenges and Global opportunities -We were introduced to the Seven(7) global challenges and the seven(7) Global opportunities available.

Week Three

Generating A Mission -During this session, we chose one Global challenge and one global opportunity to develop a mission statement

Week Four

Problem Identification and Validation- We identified our wicked problem and also the root cause of the problem.

Week Five

Situation Analysis to scope a problem and PESTLE Analysis within our think tanks apply it to our mission

Week Six

We got to know how to identify people impacted by our project with the stakeholders analysis and learned more about the differents types of empathy through empathy mapping

Week Seven

After having gotten a better understanding of stakeholders and how they are either directly or indirectly linked to our mission, we were able to interview our own stakeholders as a think tank.

Week Eight

We analyzed the quantitative and qualitative data we had collected from the interviews we conducted in Week 7. This made it easy for us to draw conclusions and make a pitch deck.

Week Nine

This week, we learned how to design a visually appealing pitch deck and how to pitch our solution to investors.
